Red indicates the thermal emission from hot dust, while blue indicates the emission from organic matters in the interstellar space. Interstellar solid particles absorb radiation energy from newly-born young stars and re-radiate it in the infrared. AKARI was launched in 2006 and observed all the sky in the infrared wavelengths. Nagoya University contributed to the development of the far-infrared instrument aboard the satellite and now leads the analysis of the mid-infrared all-sky data.

KEYWORD : Infrared astronomy / AKARI satellite / Interstellar medium / Organic matter in space

Department of Physics

Reference
https://www.sci.nagoya-u.ac.jp/images/kouhou/18.pdf
http://www-ir.u.phys.nagoya-u.ac.jp/
(Japanese only)

[27
post-300","works","type-works","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","works-category-physics
["GET
